Thomas Brannock

Founding partner, wills and trusts

Thomas has drafted wills and trusts from Broad Street for most of his career, often for the children of clients he first met decades ago.

Thomas opened the practice after years at a larger firm, wanting to do one kind of work and do it slowly. He meets every new client himself, reads the deed to the house before he drafts a word, and asks who will actually be making the phone calls if something happens.

He is at his best with family property: the house that three siblings will inherit together, the lot nobody wants to sell, the small business a son runs and a daughter doesn't.

How Thomas works

Most first meetings with Thomas run about an hour, and most of that hour is listening. He wants to know who is in the family, who gets along, who lives away and who would drive over at two in the morning.

Then he writes a short letter in plain English: what he would put in place, why, and what it costs. Nothing is drafted until you have read it and said yes.

When the documents are ready, he walks through every page with you before you sign. He would rather you ask a question in his office than wonder about it later.
